Palmtop: The journal for today’s Psion user was the premier glossy magazine for Psion users.

Published and edited by Steve Clack, the magazine was distinctive in its diminutive size and extremely high-quality production. Printed in the United Kingdom, the magazine reached a worldwide audience.

Oral History

I became aware of Palmtop journal during its first year of publication. I immediately reached out to Steve Clack, publisher and editor of the U.K.-based magazine, to find out if there was some way we could help each other. We agreed to exchange copies of our respective publications, and I continued to receive copies of Palmtop by mail well into the early 2000's. As I was based in Sunnyvale, California and Vancouver, British Columbia, I never had a chance to meet Steve in person, though we exchanged regular emails for several years.

Right from the start, I was impressed with the quality of Steve's publication. The early issues were highly-informative and very well produced. Later issues just kept getting better and better. Palmtop was an inspiration to me when I built out our web-exclusive publication mobilis: the mobile computing lifestyle magazine. Steve and his team are undoubtably an important part of the history of PSION.
