West Coast Firms Announce Partnership to Increase Educational Power of Palm Computing Devices

ATLANTA — June 27, 2000 — Two leading makers of Palm OS(R) analytical solutions today announced a partnership designed to dramatically increase the educational power of Palm(TM) handheld computers. ImagiWorks, Inc., (www.imagiworks.com), makers of Palm-compatible sensor-based data acquisition systems for science education, and Infinity Softworks, Inc., (www.infinitysw.com), makers of calculator and mobile analytical software for handheld computers, announced that they will cooperate to develop innovative curriculum solutions for science and mathematics education.

The announcement came at the National Educational Computing Conference held Monday through Wednesday at the Georgia World Congress Center where the companies also unveiled plans for a new product aimed at elementary and secondary education. The products from this collaboration will combine the ImagiGraph equation visualizer from ImagiWorks and the powerOne Graph calculator from Infinity Softworks. The first product will be available in September to education customers through ImagiWorks and its distribution partners.

"We are pleased to be in a partnership with the leading vendor of calculator software for handheld computers," said Wayne Grant, president of ImagiWorks. "Both ImagiWorks and Infinity Softworks are dedicated to expanding the educational power of Palm OS devices. The result of this partnership will be innovative products that will enable a major shift in how science and mathematics education is conducted. Through this partnership we will create breakthroughs in graphing calculator capabilities for the education marketplace. The new products are being designed to accept content from curriculum development partners, textbook publishers, teachers, and even students themselves."

Calculators form a key part of science and mathematics education. Infinity Softworks' powerOne(TM) calculators provide an interactive menu-driven interface that is more powerful and easier for students to use than conventional hardware calculators. The ImagiGraph equation visualizer combines powerful graphing capabilities with extensions that enable students to annotate their work, animate equations and collaborate in ways not possible on conventional graphing calculators. Future product releases will accept data from the ImagiProbe(TM) sensor-based computing product, forming a completely integrated math-science solution. The ImagiProbe sensor-based data acquisition system from ImagiWorks enables users to attach sensors to Palm OS devices and collect and display information in real-time.

"As the leading provider of K-12 science education technology and curriculum packages based on Palm handhelds, ImagiWorks is an excellent partner for us in the K-12 market," said Elia Freedman, CEO of Infinity Softworks. "ImagiWorks products, which are generating sales from the school district level down to the classroom and individual students, collect data that is well suited for the advanced mobile analysis that our powerOne line of calculators can provide. This lets the student reach decisions in the field, say at a streamside water quality measurement site, that will make his or her investigation project more meaningful, productive and fast."

Joint products will complement Infinity Softworks' new powerOne Graph calculator designed to address the needs of science and engineering professionals and college students.

"ImagiWorks shares our values of innovation, quality and support," said Freedman. "Together we are setting a new standard for excellence, power and economy that will make Palm Computing devices the mobile data collection and analysis platform of choice for education and research."
