TranXit Pro Introduction Foretells Market Future Earlier this year, Puma took a major step towards reaching a larger segment of the mobile computing market with the introduction of TranXit Pro, a wireless infrared (IR) connectivity software solution. Tracing its roots to Puma's widely embraced OEM IR software offering bundled by virtually every major notebook computer manufacturer, TranXit Pro takes IR connectivity to a new level via strikingly new data exchange features and, in many respects, foretells a portion of the future of the mobile computing market.
TranXit Pro's unique Wireless Clipboard allows two users whose PCs are connected via an infrared link to exchange data directly between their Windows applications in real-time using familiar "cut and paste" commands and a shared clipboard. For example, one user working in Excel can select a chart from the current worksheet and then "cut" it to the shared clipboard. Transferred over the infrared link, this chart can be "pasted" by the other user directly into a PowerPoint slide, completely eliminating the need to create, transfer and store an intermediate file. This unique object sharing feature enhances productivity in collaborative work environments, and is a key example of Puma's Mobile Data Exchange strategy.
