KPMG Wins 1995 Premier Newton Systems Integrator Award
RADNOR, Penn. — February 14, 1995 — KPMG Peat Marwick LLP today announced it has received the 1995 Premier Newton Systems Integrator Award from Apple Computer Inc.
The Newton Systems Integrator Award recognizes a company using Apple's Newton MessagePad personal digital assistant (PDA) to help clients solve real business problems. KPMG's Mobile Computing Practice was selected for development efforts involving PDA technologies, specifically the Newton Architecture platform.

KPMG's Mobile Computing Practice has developed several technology solutions for the Newton that were cited for the award, including:
o ProMED, an application developed in conjunction with Apple Computer for the Department of Defense. It enables health care professionals to leverage the Newton as well as other wireless technologies to achieve significant improvements in productivity, efficiency and primary care delivery. ProMED enables physicians immediate, real-time access to critical care data for orders, results, medical history, documentation, scheduling, patient records and other data files contained in hospital enterprise systems.
o Sales-Mate, a wireless integrated sales automation and customer inventory management application. The application consists of adaptable customized software modules running on the Newton MessagePad, and other hand-held devices, that use wireless communications tying directly to SAP's R/3 software as well as to legacy-based systems.
