Geoworks Announces Third Party Support for GEOS Operating System Platform for Mobile Devices

ALAMEDA, Calif. — October 2, 1995 — Geoworks (NASDAQ/NMS: GWRX), today announced that it is working with strategic independent software vendors (ISVs) to deliver compelling mobile solutions to users of new GEOS-based handheld devices.

GEOS is the company's operating system platform for the mobile device market.

Geoworks is working with ISVs to provide complementary device functionality in the areas of communications, connectivity, productivity and content. Specific functionality that will first be addressed includes wireless messaging, paging, email, PC connectivity, personal finance, and news, stock and weather information.

The following companies are announcing support for the GEOS platform:

Communications:

— Wynd Communications Corp. will provide a two-way wireless service that economically integrates email, pager, and phone messages, as well as wireless faxing. The service also provides up-to-date news and stock quotes.

Connectivity:

— Palm Computing provides seamless connectivity of PIM data from the device to the PC.

Productivity:

— Intuit offers Pocket Quicken, an application that allows users to instantly organize their personal and business finances, even on-the-go.

Content:

— Notable Technologies will release Septor, a customizable financial information service, which provides wire news, proactive price and volume alerts, and stock quotes for specified issues.
