Former Palm Computing Executive Joins eALITY, Inc. as Vice President of Customer Relations
FOSTER CITY, Calif. — November 1, 1999 — eALITY, Inc., a leading pure Application Service Provider (ASP) delivering web-based, outsourced business application services for small to mid-sized companies, today announced the appointment of Gary Roberts as vice president of customer relations.
Roberts appointment rounds out eALITY's world-class management team comprised of executives from Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Apple, Silicon Graphics, VeriSign and Whistle Communications (an IBM company). Together, this management team will provide the leadership and vision to further establish the company's lead in the ASP market.
At eALITY, Roberts will leverage his extensive experience in customer service and support, quality management and information technology consulting to build a comprehensive customer care program to ensure the success and satisfaction of eALITY's fast-growing base of customers. Specifically, Roberts will lead the deployment of new customer support programs that include self-help and advanced support functionality to cater to the varying support needs of customers, as well as enable rapid implementation of eALITY's full set of services in only a matter of days.

Roberts joined eALITY from Palm Computing where he served as senior director of customer service. In this role, he managed the worldwide customer service and support organization and implemented a number of innovative programs that increased customer satisfaction and loyalty, including a web self-service solution. Prior to Palm Computing, Roberts spent more than five years at Apple Computer, Inc. where he held several key customer support and quality management positions, greatly improving product quality and customer satisfaction worldwide. Roberts also gained extensive experience with international IT implementations during his tenure as a senior management consultant with Neville Clarke Ltd.
