Fifth Annual Mobile Insights ’99 Sees Mobile Computing Going Primetime

Mobile Insights today announced its fifth annual Mobile Insights '99 conference for leaders in the mobile computing and data communications industry.
The fifth annual MI99 will be held at the luxurious Marriott Desert Springs Resort, Feb. 21-23, 1999, in Palm Springs, Calif.
"Mobile Insights '99 will allow mobile industry leaders to gather in one place to set the agenda for the next year and honor the top mobile products and services," said J. MI99 will have a number of panel sessions that will establish the direction for mobile computing in the coming year. These sessions

— Industry Luminaries Roundtable — Here a panel of leading editors and analysts will discuss the future of mobile computing. Dignitaries will share their views on the future of the hottest area of the PC market today.
— End-User Roundtable: What Works for Users — A panel of leading IT decision makers will share what they believe vendors must do to better meet their needs in future mobile computing and data communications products.

There are four one-hour on-stage demonstration sessions: one each morning and afternoon of the conference. Each session will feature five to six of the most exciting products and services in mobile computing today. Some will be shown in public for the first time, while others will simply be revolutionary. The editorial staff of Mobile Insights will select the products and services to be on-stage.

The fifth annual Mobility Awards will honor mobile products and services in 25 different categories. The Awards Committee nominates products until the end of 1998, and votes in early January. The Mobility Awards are announced at the conference-closing Mobility Awards banquet and ceremony, Tuesday evening, Feb. 23.
The fourth annual Mobility Foundation Auction will be held Sunday evening, Feb. 21. The auction raises money for scholarships and research into mobile computing and data communications.
