NEW YORK — August 11, 1999 — EarthWeb, Inc. (Nasdaq: EWBX), the leading provider of business-to-business online services to the global Information Technology (IT) industry, announced today an agreement with Palm Computing, Inc., a 3Com company (Nasdaq: COMS), to provide material and promotional support to EarthWeb's Palm OS(TM) directory. EarthWeb's Palm OS directory is part of Developer.com, one of 20 specialized technology vertical sites on the EarthWeb network. Developer.com is a leading online resource for enterprise developers, offering extensive technology resource directories, hands-on tutorials and source code.
As part of the agreement, Palm Computing will provide EarthWeb with development documentation and development software, including Palm OS platform development documentation, for inclusion in the directory. EarthWeb will host a Palm application development contest in conjunction with the launch of the new directory.
