Cutting Edge Software Releases Quicksheet Version 4.0
PLANO, Texas — May 3, 1999 — Cutting Edge Software, Inc. today announced the release of Quicksheet 4.0, the fully functional spreadsheet for the Palm Computing(R) line of handheld computers that uses HotSync(R) technology to automatically synchronize entire spreadsheets to or from Microsoft(R) Excel(TM).

Summary of Features
Quicksheet provides seamless and bi-directional connectivity with Microsoft Excel allowing users to take existing Excel spreadsheets and synchronize them with Palm Computing handhelds or create spreadsheets on the Palm organizer and synchronize them with Excel on the desktop. Quicksheet works just like a desktop spreadsheet only in a more compact manner.
Quicksheet has 45 built-in scientific, financial, statistical, date & time, and aggregate functions and supports up to 15 named sheets per workbook while allowing linking of worksheets. Among other new features, Quicksheet 4.0 has added 18 new functions including expanded date and time support and table lookups which allow users to create spreadsheets that act like small databases.
Quicksheet allows users to format cells in a number of different ways and allows naming the style for easy use throughout the open spreadsheet. Support for row and column freezing and cell locking with sheet protection helps guard against accidental changes to critical formulas. With version 4.0, columns can easily be re-sized by dragging the column headers.
