Cutting Edge Software, Inc. to Become Exclusive Distributor of SmartDoc 2.0
PLANO, Texas — October 5, 1999 — Cutting Edge Software, Inc., a leading developer of software products for the mobile professional, today announces that it has become the exclusive distributor of SmartDoc, a powerful text document editor and reader application for Palm Computing(R) platform devices.
Cutting Edge Software will market, sell, distribute and support SmartDoc, a product developed by TapWorks.
With this agreement, Cutting Edge Software will make an entry into the word processing arena. Until today, the Company was primarily recognized as the maker of Quicksheet, the only Platinum Certified fully functional spreadsheet application on the market.
Using one of many third party document converters available, SmartDoc 2.0 allows users to read and edit Microsoft Word documents or any text formatted file on their Palm compatible organizers, including the new Handspring(TM) Visor(TM) model. Cutting Edge Software will soon develop its own proprietary conduit to Microsoft Word, which will be a free upgrade.
