AvantGo Presents Mobile Information Management Software at Venture Market West
MONTEREY, Calif. — May 5, 1998 — At the Red Herring's fourth annual Venture Market West this week, Felix Lin, CEO of AvantGo, Inc., will present AvantGo's award-winning mobile information management software. The software seamlessly extends enterprise applications to handheld devices, including the 3Com PalmPilot connected organizer, the IBM WorkPad and soon WindowsCE devices. Mr. Lin will speak at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, Calif., on Tuesday, May 5 at 2:30 p.m.
At the conference, Mr. Lin will discuss AvantGo's server, desktop and Web client products for mobilizing enterprise applications. AvantGo's solution which allows information to flow freely between a handheld device and an enterprise repository — creating an "enterprise to go" — was recently awarded a prestigious 1998 Editor's Choice Award from DBMS Magazine. AvantGo also recently announced that Palm Computing has licensed AvantGo's Java synchronization technology for use with the Palm Computing platform. The Java-based Conduit Development Kit allows application developers to create Java applications that synchronize with applications running on the Palm III and other devices based on the Palm Computing platform.
Using AvantGo solutions, workers such as field technicians, sales executives and warehouse administrators can now be users of, and contributors to, enterprise automation.
