TRG Products Announces Licensing Agreement With OpenSky

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — October 19, 1999 — TRG Products, Inc., today announced at PalmSource'99 that it has licensed custom installation software to OpenSky, a company formed in June of this year by industry leaders to offer next generation wireless communication services, including Internet and email access on popular handheld devices.

The TRG software will make it easy for end users to install OpenSky wireless service software on their Palm OS computing platforms. OpenSky plans to release more details on their wireless service offering on November 15.

TRG's New Technology Group, which develops and licenses custom software and hardware products for the Palm OS platform market, has developed a custom deployment tool for OpenSky that builds a complete image of the software to be installed on Palm OS platforms. This tool allows the user to install the image in non-volatile memory on a Palm(R) platform with a standard HotSync(R).command.

"The agreement between OpenSky and TRG Products demonstrates the type of relationships that Palm's licensing of its OS can foster. TRG' mission is to support the growth of the Palm OS platform through a series of products that allow companies to fully customize the base OS and applications on a Palm device," said Ernie Rudolph, president of TRG Products. "As a leader in delivering tools for customization of the nonvolatile space in the Palm devices, we save application developers and platform developers time and effort by providing off-the-shelf and custom tools for adapting and implementing applications and operating software in the Palm environment."
