First Voice Message Organizer for the Palm Computing Platform That Allows Users to Record, Categorize, and Group Voice Messages for Instant Recall is Now Available
LOS ALAMOS, N.M. — November 9, 1998 — DynaFirm, Inc. announced today that JetTalker(TM), the first voice message organizer for Palm Computing(R) platform, will be shipping November 16. The ingenious JetTalker instantly expands the functionality offered by the Palm Computing platform. Users can input information as fast as they can talk, instantly recording and storing 34 minutes of voice messages.

JetTalker is the identical size and shape as the standard Palm(TM) connected organizer modem accessory, but weighs a mere 2.7 ounces. JetTalker snaps onto the bottom of the Palm devices. A single tap on the JetTalker record button allows users to dictate up to 34 minutes of telephone-quality memos stored digitally in JetTalker's own memory. The ultra-portable JetTalker operates on two internal AAA batteries.
By tapping on the Palm device screen, each voice message or group of messages can be filed in one of 15 customizable categories. For users with more complex storage requirements, each of these categories contains up to 15 subcategories. All are customizable using the Palm Computing's Graffiti(TM) text function and on-screen keyboard.
With the versatile JetTalker, users may transfer voice messages among any of the categories regardless of when they were recorded. Users also have the option of either listening to individual voice messages or to all of the voice messages in a group. Once created, the categories and customizable subcategories are always available by simply tapping on the screen.
In addition, voice messages can be password-protected, and users can also skip forward, back, or pause voice messages using JetTalker's highly intuitive graphical user interface. With the feature-packed JetTalker, users can even record personalized voice alarms to remind themselves of important appointments or telephone calls. A tiny remote headphone and lapel microphone unit is available as an optional accessory. Justice points out that this featherweight "ear bud" unit plugs into a jack to facilitate optimum recording and listening privacy.
JetTalker sells for a suggested retail price of $169.00. In addition to the PalmPilot, JetTalker is also fully compatible with all Palm Computing platform products which include the PalmPilot Professional Edition and Palm III connected organizers, IBM WorkPad(TM) and Symbol SPT 1500(TM). The PalmPilot has become the benchmark electronic organizer that is fast replacing paper organizers. Industry analysts predict that by year-end some 3 million Palm Computing platform supported devices will be in use.
JetTalker has been selected to participate in 3Com Palm Computing's Palm Champions program for products that "take Palm use to the next level" and will be featured in 3Com's Booth L6040 at Comdex at the Las Vegas Convention Center the week of Nov. 16.
