Fujitsu Personal Systems Appoints New Vice President to Direct the Company’s Growing Sales Organization
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — January 11, 1999 — Industry Veteran Tapped to Lead Aggressive Expansion Efforts into New Markets
Fujitsu Personal Systems, Inc. (FPSI), the leader in the Windows pen tablet market, today announced that Mr. Phillip Marson has been named vice president of sales and will lead FPSI's sales efforts in North America, South America and Australia. Mr. Marson comes to Fujitsu with over 20 years of management experience at leading technology companies, and has held senior sales and marketing positions at 3COM, Bay Networks and McDonnell Douglas Information Systems. Most recently, he was executive vice president at Cohesive Business Solutions. "By developing ground-breaking handheld computers and maintaining a singular focus on market-specific sales opportunities, Fujitsu Personal Systems has come to dominate the Windows pen tablet market and has achieved an 82% compound annual growth rate over the past five years," said Louis Panetta, president and CEO of FPSI.
"That said, we have only begun to scratch the surface of our overall market potential, and that's why we decided to add a senior sales executive of Phil's caliber to the FPSI team. "An outstanding track record in building successful VAR distribution channels, exceeding sales objectives and motivating sales teams made Phil the ideal candidate to lead our efforts as we move into new markets in 1999 and beyond," continued Panetta. "We will rely heavily on his strategic business skills to capture the considerable opportunities ahead of us, and to help us achieve our mission of extending true Working Mobility(TM) to the broadest possible user base."
