Thinque Systems Corporation Now Authorized to Sell Fujitsu Personal System’s Tablet PC Worldwide
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — March 7, 1997 — Thinque Systems Corporation announced today that it has been authorized to sell Fujitsu's tablet PCs to Thinque's multinational customers for use in their sales force automation projects.
"Thinque Systems is exactly the type of solutions partner that Fujitsu is seeking to help increase our market penetration of the consumer packaged goods industry, both in the US and internationally," comments Lou Panetta, President of FPSI. "Thinque's advanced sales force automation software offers customers an excellent solution that is easy to use, quick to deploy and guarantees a continued migration path due to its open systems architecture. Together, we will gain additional recognition as global providers of sales force automation solutions," adds Mr. Panetta.
The unique, modular design of Thinque's Sales Portfolio(TM) Solution is comprised of Technology Enabled Selling (TES) software modules, and ThinqComm(TM) Mobile Communications Management software. These software products provide packaged software that is configurable and modifiable by the user and used to re-engineer mobile workers engaged in the sales, marketing and customer service processes, leveraging technology to create competitive advantage and improved workflow.
Sales professionals using Thinque's software require a computer with the power of a notebook PC, but one that is useable while standing or walking. Fujitsu's Stylistic 1000 tablet PC meets Thinque's hardware needs. The tablet computer provides all the familiar benefits of laptop PCs — speed, color, long battery life and Windows(R) 95 — all without a keyboard. By replacing the keyboard and mouse with an electronic pen, mobile workers get a lightweight computer that they can use in situations where typing would be inconvenient. The combination of Thinque's SFA software and Fujitsu's Stylistic 1000 gives large corporations a powerful decision support tool for their field-based sales forces.
"Because Thinque Systems provides mission critical mobile solutions to multi-national customers such as Nestle, we want to guarantee our customers the security of technology independence. We are continually evaluating hardware to find the best price, performance and open systems compliance," comments Bridget Karlin, president of Thinque Systems. "Our great success with Fujitsu's Stylistic 500 led us to evaluate the new, higher performance Stylistic 1000. We believe Fujitsu's pen computers are among the best mobile hardware for our global customers."
