Apple Expo Celebrates 10th Year as the Premier Mac Event
Apple Expo is celebrating its 10th year as Europe's leading independent Apple Macintosh event. Running from 6-9 November at the Grand Hall, Olympia, Apple Expo '96 Will demonstrate why it remains the premier UK Mac exhibition with its combination of exciting product innovations and an extensive programme of interactive show features.
Apple Expo is the best opportunity for visitors at all levels of Mac experience to test the very latest Apple technology. Over 250 top vendors will exhibit at this year's event – including Quark, Macromedia, Adobe, Kodak and Apple Computer UK – and many choose Apple Expo '96 to launch new products. These innovations will be designed for use in business and at home, for people who want to learn, communicate and be creative.
An exciting new feature to be introduced at Apple Expo this year is the Electronic Imaging Centre. Organised by Direktek, this area will showcase the latest electronic imaging solutions from leading suppliers Apple, Linotype-Hell, Polaroid, Nikon, Adobe, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Calcomp, Rank Xerox, Casio and QMS. Visitors will have an opportunity to 'meet the experts' of these companies and discuss radical and affordable new ways to capture, store and reproduce pictures using electronic imaging technology.
Another new feature at this year's show is the Developers' Village, sponsored by Apple Computer and Full Moon Software. This area is a showcase for leading-edge technologies offered by emerging Mac developers from the UK and Europe and provides an opportunity to see pioneering new software on show for the first time. Within the Village is Full Moon Software's Developer Central – the show's focal point for visitors interested in development-related information, resources and products, with demonstration stations manned by engineers from leading tool vendors.
A number of popular features will return to Apple Expo '96. Many have been enhanced to make it even easier for visitors to find out how to benefit from the numerous applications of Mac products. One of these features is the Internet Arena – an interactive area offering free, hands-on training and demonstrations from experts on vital issues including how to publish web pages and what the Net can achieve in both business and at home. The Arena will be designed to educate visitors at different levels of Internet experience.
Also returning to the exhibition this year is the Multimedia Arena. This feature will house a series of exciting case study presentations demonstrating a wide range of practical business, education and entertainment applications of multimedia.
The Conference and Seminar Programme, sponsored by Apple Computer and Macworld, provides an amalgamation of 11 issue-based conference sessions and 30 product-based seminar sessions. Topics include 'Publishing for the Millennium: from Ink and Paper to CD and the Net'; 'Max Power: The Promise of the PowerPC Platform' (keynote session) and 'Cool Web Tools: Techniques and Technologies for the Internet and Intranets'.
Back by popular demand at Apple Expo '96 are the Hands-on Workshops. Organised by the Corps Business, their experienced industry professionals will guide delegates with advice and practical examples during two-hour intensive training sessions in a fully equipped and networked environment. Workshops, tailored for all levels of experience, will include sessions on Photoshop, Director, Extreme 3D, Quarklmmedia and QuarkXpress.
Another feature that attracts a tremendous amount of interest at the exhibition is the Newton Business Solutions Village. This area showcases the innovative range of PDA's developed by Apple and demonstrates their wide range of practical applications.
