AppForge, Inc. Wins Go Mobile 2000 Demo Award Sponsored by Mobile Insights
ATLANTA — September 27, 2000 — AppForge, Inc., developer of the world's only Microsoft Visual Basic Program development environment for the Palm OS(R), and Mobile Insights, the leading information source for the mobile computing and data communications markets, have announced that AppForge has received an outstanding technical demo award during the Go Mobile 2000 Conference, held in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Go Mobile 2000 attendees voted on the top demos after seeing product demonstrations from 28 companies during the three-day conference. AppForge, a first-time participant, was one of five companies to receive the honor. AppForge demonstrated during its eight-minute demo the ease with which Visual Basic programmers can quickly create Palm OS applications. AppForge installs as an add-on into Microsoft Visual Basic, so programmers develop their applications using AppForge and "real" Visual Basic code. The developers then compile their programs and "sync" them to a Palm device.
"This year's product presenters were extremely competitive. AppForge's demonstration, which illustrated how companies can quickly design, develop and deploy high-performance Palm OS applications using existing Visual Basic resources generated significant enthusiasm from a tough audience of industry decision makers," said Theresa Nozick, Industry Analyst & VP of Publishing for Mobile Insights. "It's even more impressive considering that it was AppForge's first year presenting."
"We're delighted to be recognized by industry experts at the mobile computing industry's definitive conference event," said Doug Armstrong, president and CEO, AppForge, Inc. "We look forward to working more closely with Palm to provide enterprise users with a way to create and deploy more applications for their handhelds using their existing IT staffs."
