Mobile Insights Announces Mobile Connections ’97
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — July 10, 1997 — Mobile Insights, a professional services company that focuses on the mobile computing and communications market, today announced Mobile Connection '97, a new conference series designed to benefit both the decision maker and manufacturer of mobile computing products and services. Mobile Connections will be conducted as a series of five regional two-day events around the United States: New York, August 12 -13, Grand Hyatt Dallas, September 16 -17, Info Mart Los Angeles, September 30 – October 1, Sheraton Chicago, October 15 – 16, Marriott Atlanta, October 28 – 29, Atlanta Market Center
In the fast moving world of mobilecomputing and data communications, this five-city tour will provide corporate decision makers with a broad and complete education of a) mobile technologies available today, b) new technologies on the horizon and c) issues and trends in the industry. Armed with this knowledge, decision makers will be able to make more intelligent buying decisions, maximizing corporate dollars spent on mobile computing products and services. Coupled with the ability to network with peers, and the unusual opportunity to speak directly with vendors regarding development of products to best meet needs, the conference provides an outstanding value for the corporate decision maker.
"Intel and the mobile PC industry are developing significant new processors and platform technologies to further improve performance, manageability, and communications on notebook PCs", said Stephen Nachtsheim, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Intel Mobile and Handheld Products Group. "The value and impact of mobile PCs in business computing will continue to grow as a result. Mobile Connections '97 will provide information professionals with an excellent forum to gain insights into these exciting new directions in notebook PCs."
Decision makers will benefit from direct access to many of the leading vendors of mobile products and services. They will get information on technology and trends, which will help them make better recommendations for their enterprises. Finally, they will get to network among peers where they can compare their decision-making process. Mobile Connections is conducted as a two-day event. The morning sessions cover topics of interest to the general audience, including: — Latest mobile products and services — How to select products — Benefit from service and support programs — Understand the latest mobile technologies
The afternoon consists of a Vendor Showcase that gives attendees a peek at what's new and what's coming, as well as in-depth breakout sessions on specific technologies.
"We are excited about Mobile Connections," said Dr. J. Gerry Purdy, President and CEO of Mobile Insights. "For the first time in one forum, decision makers who buy mobile products are united with the manufacturers who make the products." Continued Purdy, "It would take decision makers a year to obtain all the knowledge imparted at Mobile Connections. And, it would easily take a manufacturer a year to network with the hundreds of companies that will be represented throughout the five cities. Mobile Connections delivers it in two days, providing value for everyone."
The registration fee for the conference is $ 1,495. Selected key decision-makers and influencers will be invited to attend the conference at no charge as guests of sponsoring companies.
